As you'll notice...
…the year is quickly coming to a close. Congratulations to everyone who has survived the Year of Celebrity Deaths. If you are a regular reader of the blog (umm…that might just be me?), you might have noticed that I haven’t yet come out with my Top 10 list for Movies this year. I promise you, that it’s not for lack of trying. In the past 12 days I’ve managed to see...

Hulu for Music? →
I think this concept is pretty interesting. Obviously limits of 20-songs per month will keep this from really acting as much of a deterrent to pirating, but at least the Industry has begun to look at alternative methods. I imagine I’ll sign up.

Another Interview with Lev Grossman regarding his... →
I kind of put off my goal of working my way thru Time Magazine’s Top 100 Novels list (co-edited by Lev Grossman) this year and instead I read a lot of Fantasy. I pretty much worked thru Neil Gaiman’s entire novel-based catalog (and some short stories as well). Also, as readers of this blog might remember, I was also pretty stoked about “The Magicians” when it came out. ...
Stereotyping People by Their Favorite Indie Bands →
This says way too much about me. I’m very uncomfortable right now.

Top 10 Albums - Honorable Mentions
While I am still very pleased with the 10 albums I previously chose to call out as my top 10 of the year, there are definitely some albums that I want to take a moment to recognize as being awesome, even if they didn’t quite make the list for one reason or another.
Paramore - brand new eyes —- I love this album. It’s actually pretty awesome, and Hayley Williams can really rock...

Merry Christmas Eve!
Hello friends,
Merry Christmas Eve. What have you spent the morning doing? Me? Oh, I’ve been watching Bravo’s mini-marathon of West Wing Christmas episodes. Much like the Thanksgiving episodes were a highlight of Friends, I always felt like Christmas brought out the best in The West Wing. Maybe it’s because these episodes all seem to have been written and directed by The...

ZOMG! Hulu, you’ve done me a serious solid. I’ve been looking for The Legend of Zelda series (which used to air on Fridays in place of the Mario Brothers show) back in my youth. Wow. Definitely a lot worse than I remember, but don’t think I won’t watch these. Also, Zelda was a serious cartoon hottie. For reals.

Year End Top 10 List - Albums
Ok, since Pitchfork’s Top 25 comes out tomorrow, and I don’t want to let the top of their list affect my own, I am going to preemptively publish my Top 10 Albums for 2009. So here we go.
10. Passion Pit - Manners —— Yeah, yeah, I know. It’s not “cool” to like Passion Pit anymore, right? Pfft. I’ve been jamming out to this album since it came...
Probability of me seeing this film is high. God, I don’t even recognize Dakota Fanning anymore.

The film, which stars Dakota Fanning (Cherie Currie), Kristen Stewart (Joan...

What Diddy and I have in common....
From his Playboy interview in the January/February issue:
On whether he ever sold drugs: “I sold drugs for 48 hours… I’m out there five minutes when three cop cars pull up and officers jump out and start chasing me. I ran and got away. We reconvene in the same place two hours later. Cops jump out and start chasing me again. There’s a helicopter overhead with a light...

After an extended layoff.....
….I’m back! Exciting news, I know. I was spurred by this little tidbit of news, that filled me with so much holiday joy, I had to share it with the Internets.
